The Kingst AneSure Multi-Gas Module (AneSure-M / AneSure-S) now offers an optional Auto Identification (Auto ID) Mode, enabling automatic recognition of the anesthetic agent while simultaneously monitoring EtCO₂, N₂O, anesthetic agent concentration, and respiratory rate.
Designed for integration into anesthesia workstations, patient monitors, and ventilators, the new feature helps simplify clinical workflows by eliminating the need for manual anesthetic agent selection before monitoring begins.
In conventional multi-gas monitoring systems, clinicians are typically required to manually select the anesthetic agent through the host monitor before measurements can begin. Although straightforward, this additional step may interrupt workflow, particularly in fast-paced operating rooms where rapid patient care takes priority.
With Auto ID Mode, the AneSure module automatically recognizes the anesthetic agent during normal gas measurement, reducing manual interaction and supporting a more efficient monitoring process. Automatic identification also helps minimize the possibility of discrepancies in MAC calculations that may occur if an incorrect agent is selected.

Auto ID Mode is enabled by the module's integrated non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) sensing technology.
By analyzing the unique infrared absorption characteristics of different volatile anesthetic agents, the module identifies the agent while simultaneously measuring gas concentrations. Recognition results are transmitted together with monitoring data through the existing communication interface, requiring no additional sensors or workflow changes.
The result is a monitoring solution that shifts anesthetic agent recognition from manual operator input to automated spectral analysis.
